 Statement on Fulton County Superior Court's Ruling in
Lawsuit Challenging the Public Property Vending Management Program

ATLANTA – The City of Atlanta entered into a 2009 contract with General Growth Properties (“GGP”), which the Reed Administration inherited, to manage public vending. Today, Fulton County Superior Court Judge Shawn Ellen LaGrua entered an Order voiding that contract with GGP for public property vending. Judge LaGrua ruled that the 2009 contract effectively granted an exclusive franchise to GGP in violation of the City Charter. The city is currently reviewing the Order and evaluating its options going forward.
