City of Atlanta to Announce Support of the U.S. Treasury’s myThế giới cáRA®, a New Way to Start Saving for Retirement

WHO:	Mayor Kasim Reed Richard Ludlow, Executive Director, myRA, U.S. Department of Treasury
WHAT:	Mayor Reed and Executive Director Ludlow will discuss the U.S. Department of Treasury’s myRA, a savings account for Americans who don’t have access to an employer-sponsored retirement savings plan. City of Atlanta employees, Atlanta residents and local business leaders are encouraged to attend the press conference and learn how the plan can benefit them. Program participants will be able to have a portion of their paycheck deposited directly into their myRA automatically every pay period, or can contribute from a checking or savings account, as well as their federal tax refund. Following the press conference, myRA representatives will be on site to assist with account enrollment. According to a 2015 Federal Reserve Report, 31 percent of non-retired people reported that they have no retirement savings or pension, and lack access or are not eligible for a retirement savings plan at work.
