This page describes the process by which a non-student filmmaker would get a filming permit.

For student filmmakers, please visit this page.

PRE-PRODUCTION
Begin by calling the office at 404.330.6006 to discuss the specifics of your project and its needs. We will need to know the following: project name, crew size, duration of filming, and more.

At the end of this conversation, we ask that you fill out an information sheet on your project. Completing the form is not binding or a means of collecting fees of any kind; it simply allows the city to keep track of what productions are happening in town, as well as how to accommodate their needs.

Once we have a better idea of the details of your project, we guide you through every step: offering introductions to related City agencies, as well as answering questions about requirements.

Once all the requirements have been fulfilled, we will issue you a permit.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
Depending on your project, you may need to submit documents and fees to other City agencies. We will make an email introduction to a contact within that agency, but we do ask that you submit all completed documents directly to us. This will help to ensure that permit requirements are met.

DURING PRODUCTION
All filming locations will be inspected for compliance. If there are discrepancies between your filming activities and what was reported on your permit application, you will incur fines. You will also be required to keep your permit on site at the time and location of filming.
