Security, Building Safety and Emergency Response
OEAM/FM is responsible for Building Security, Safety, Emergency Evacuation and Response. FM has a Security Manager and associated contracted Security personnel. Facilities Management is an integral part of COA’s Safety Committee and coordinates directly with Risk Management during facility condition assessments, Emergency Evacuations, Hazard Condition Remediation and Emergency Situations that require evacuation or immediate response.
Security: The Office of Enterprise Assets Management manages the citywide security
contract. OEAM/FM recently added services for the new Public Safety Headquarters
and the Public Safety Annex.
Building Safety: All departments have direct access to OEAM’s help desk to report safety concerns or issues. FM takes safety seriously and, as such, we attend the monthly Safety Committee Meetings to hear of concerns from all departments. FM has a safety checklist that is used during building inspections and preventive maintenance tasks. Contractors are provided a Contractors Handbook that outlines safety measures, COA requirements and resources.
