Summer Foods Service Program (SFSP)
The Mayor’s Office of Human Services in partnership with Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning, participates in the USDA’s Child Nutrition Program that feeds nutritious meals to children in low-income areas when schools are closed for summer vacation. The program operates through sponsors that utilize sites approved by Bright from the Start to feed children free of charge.

Summer Food Service Program sites may be located in schools, community centers, parks, churches, playgrounds, migrant centers, homeless feeding sites, or summer camps. The children served by the SFSP must be 18 years of age or younger.

Social Development
Thế giới cáThe OHS does not provide any direct services, but manages a network of social services to meet the needs of the citizens of Atlanta. Many of these activities are funded through Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), Emergency Shelter Grants (ESG) and Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS Grants (HOPWA) and administered through contractual arrangement with human service providers. The activities include programs serving special needs and at-risk low and moderate-income populations.
Coordination of Homeless Services
Thế giới cáThis program provides for the coordination of services for people who are living on the streets of Atlanta. Outreach and referral services such as food, clothing, shelter, medical or transportation are provided. We also coordinate emergency overflow shelter for the homeless.
